Privacy Policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
Signage X is designed to collect only the information needed to operate, secure, and support the service. We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.
Who is responsible
Signage X is provided by Island Electronics. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to support@signage-x.com.
Information we process
- Account information: administrator and team-member email addresses, roles, and securely hashed passwords.
- Display and service information: display names and identifiers, locations entered by an administrator, pairing credentials, assigned content, schedules, player version, resolution, online status, uptime, playback status, cache status, and error details.
- Customer content: images, videos, webpage addresses, playlists, layouts, and other material uploaded or configured by administrators.
- Licensing information: if licensing is used, account email, plan, permitted screen count, license status, server identifier, validation time, and payment-provider customer or subscription references. Payment-card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by Signage X.
- Basic technical records: server security and diagnostic logs, which may include IP address, browser type, request time, and requested path.
- Communications: information you choose to include when contacting support or requesting a license.
Why we use it
We use this information to authenticate users and players, deliver assigned signage, maintain availability, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and meet legal obligations. We do not use CMS data for behavioural advertising.
Where information is stored
The hosted Signage X CMS stores each customer’s account, display, content, and telemetry records in a logically isolated organization workspace on infrastructure operated for Signage X. Authorized users can access only their organization’s workspace. Local players also store configuration, credentials, logs, and cached content required for offline playback.
Sharing and retention
Information is disclosed only to service providers needed for hosting, email, security, or support, or when legally required. Data is kept only as long as needed for those purposes. Administrators can delete content, displays, schedules, playlists, and user accounts from the CMS; backups and security logs may remain for a limited operational period.
Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes. CMS sessions and paired players use authenticated tokens. Access is role-based. No system is completely secure, so administrators should apply updates, use strong unique passwords, restrict server access, and maintain backups.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information. Contact us using the address above. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Changes
We may update this policy when the service or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the latest version.
